Retro trailer OUT: Suriya in Karthik Subbaraj padam goes all out

Retro is an upcoming Tamil film starring Ayan actor Suriya in the lead role. The film marks his first collaboration with director Karthik Subbaraj, who made a splashing debut with his horror heist film Pizza. Ahead of the May 1 release, the trailer of Retro has been released by the team. Interestingly, Karthik Subbaraj has chosen his long-time friend and filmmaker Alphonse Puthren to edit the film. The duo go a long way back when they participated in the short film contest Naalaya Iyakkunar.

The trailer is filled with quirk, more action and the love story. In a typical Karthik Subbaraj film, which is wacky and action-oriented, we see the beginning in which a man talks about deer biryani, which then moves to intercuts with various characters, as actors are shown to be seen in a very unique manner. On the other hand, we see Suriya promising his wife to leave his violent ways. The trailer is cut into segments, as Alphonse makes sure the plot of the film is not revealed. Suriya is seen in an intense avatar, as he dances, romances and introduces the gritty world. There is love, war and laughter, in short.
