This is comparatively less than the other Tamil film Sirai, which was also released on the same day and made Rs 1 crore. After the former gets a chance to impersonate as his lookalike and enjoy his luxurious life, Kaali is also hunted down by Upendra’s enemies. The film is a fast-paced action thriller with a crisp runtime of 1 hour and 53 minutes, but despite it, Retta Thala had opened to negative reviews from critics.
