Retta Thala is an action thriller film which features Arun Vijay in dual roles. It revolves around Kaali, who lives on the streets of Pondicherry, as he aspires to live a good life with his girlfriend Antre who considers money is everything. But when Kaali stumbles upon his lookalike, Malpe Upendra, Antre persuades Kaali to finish off Upendra to take his place and fortune. The rest of the film is about if Kaali manages to do so and the whirlwind of problems he is caught by.
