Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi has been running a social media campaign called #Chiruleaks to promote his upcoming movie Bholaa Shankar. In this segment, the superstar releases an audio message giving interesting tidbits about the movie. In the latest tweet, he revealed that he will be honouring the cinematic legacy of his younger brother Pawan Kalyan.
In the audio message, Chiranjeevi noted that Pawan has always expressed his admiration and respect for him by including references to him in his movies. And Chiranjeevi wants to return the favour by imitating Pawan's trademark mannerisms in Bholaa Shankar. He also shared a short video clip revealing a sample of what he was talking about. The movie has a few verses of 'Ye Mera Jaha' song from Pawan's blockbuster Kushi. And Chiranjeevi imitates Pawan's moves while grooving to the song.
Bholaa Shankar is the remake of Tamil superstar Ajith’s Vedalam. The Telugu remake is written and directed by Meher Ramesh. The movie tells a story of a cab driver, who has a dangerous past as a dreaded gangster. The movie was a big hit in Tamil when it came out in 2015. And the trade is confident that Bholaa Shankar will also click with the audience in the Telugu states.
Meher Ramesh seems to have significantly changed the characterisation of the protagonist for the Telugu remake. Chiranjeevi's Bholaa is very flamboyant and candor comapred to Ajith's Vedalam.
Bholaa Shankar also stars Tamannaah and Keerthy Suresh as female leads. The movie is due in cinemas on August 11.
