In anticipation of the March 21, 2025, spectacular re-release of Lamhe (1991), let us reminisce about the films that featured their dynamic cooperation. Karma (1986) - ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium] & Prime Video
Subhash Ghai's Karma was the first to bring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi together. Kapoor played the role of Johnny, a courageous young man who helps a group of freedom warriors led by Dilip Kumar, in this patriotic action film. Radha, played by Sridevi, brought charisma and depth of heart to the film. Even though they weren't the lead couple, the few sequences they did share showed the chemistry that would become famous in Bollywood.

Mr. India (1987) - ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium] & Prime Video
A cult favourite, Mr. India, directed by Shekhar Kapur, was the most famous film starring the pair. Sridevi played the role of a rebellious journalist Seema, and Anil Kapoor played the role of a good-hearted man named Arun who finds a gadget that makes him invisible. Songs like Hawa Hawai and Kaate Nahi Katte, which include Sridevi's seductive dancing and glitzy performance, are what make the film famous. Their onscreen romance was unique because of their different personalities. His was simple, while hers was fiery.
Laadla (1994) - ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium]
Laadla depicted the passionate love-hate relationship between Sridevi and Anil Kapoor. Sridevi portrayed the haughty and corrupt businesswoman Sheetal, whereas Kapoor represented the patriotic man Raju, who confronts her narcissism. The movie was a financial success thanks to their passionate romance and violent altercations. An example of Sridevi's potent conversation is "Understand? You better understand!" became famous. Kapoor's performance, which was both understated and powerful, was a wonderful match for her commanding character.
Lamhe (1991) - Prime Video
One of the most unusual love stories in Bollywood, Lamhe was directed by Yash Chopra. Anil Kapoor debuted as Viren, a young guy smitten with Pallavi (Sridevi), and subsequently took on the part of an older man whose heart was stolen by Pooja, Pallavi's daughter (also Sridevi). Unrequited love and romantic relationships between generations were pioneering themes in the film. The moving storyline, beautiful music, and incredible chemistry between the lead actors transformed Lamhe into a classic, despite the fact that it failed to become a monetary success upon its initial release.
Judaai (1997) - ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium] & Prime Video
Sridevi as Kajal and Anil Kapoor as Raj gave powerful performances in Judaai, their last film together. Raj, Kajal's middle-class husband, was portrayed by Kapoor. Sridevi was the film's breakout star. In the film, Kajal's desire for cash drives her to "sell" her husband to Jahnvi, a rich woman played by Urmila Matondkar, for the sake of financial gain. Kapoor's subdued and vulnerable performance brought further emotional depth, and Sridevi's depiction of a troubled yet driven lady was highly praised.
