Revolver Rita box office collection: Keerthy Suresh goes past Rs 2 crore but fails the Monday test

Revolver Rita, the recently released Tamil film starring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role, has managed to make Rs 2.75 crore. The action-comedy film, which did not open to not so favourable reviews, is currently running in theatres.

Actor Keerthy Suresh’s first Tamil film of the year, released only last week. Revolver Rita is an action drama comedy film which is written and directed by JK Chandru. The film, after several delays, hit theatres on November 28.

Titled Revolver Rita, the film has made a box office collection of Rs 2.75 crore as it nears one week since release. Still running in theatres, as per Sacnilk, the daily breakdown of collections of Revolver Rita has not touched Rs 1 crore.

The film, which nearly made Rs 0.6 crore for the first three days, saw a drastic slump on day 4, with mere Rs 0.26 crore. This means, the film has failed the Monday test. With no major Tamil releases this week, and its lukewarm response, Revolver Rita has only 50-50 percent chance of winning, given more interesting titles from other languages are there for the film to compete with, including Mammootty’s Kalamkaval (on December 5), and Dhanush’s Tere Ishq Mein which is running in theatres since last week.

What is Revolver Rita about?

Revolver Rita is set in Pondicherry with Keerthy Suresh playing the titular role. After a gangster accidentally dies at Rita’s home, she and her family must find ways to deal with his body while not getting caught in gang wars. It also stars actors Radhika Sarathkumar, Sunil, Redin Kingsley, Mime Gopi, Sendrayan, Super Subbarayan and others in supporting roles. The streaming rights of Revolver Rita has been bagged by Netflix, with a premiere date yet to be announced by the platform.
