The suspicious death of the female doctor at RG Kar Hospital triggered a storm on social media. The hospital campus saw unrest as protesting doctors went to the streets demanding justice. Many people wonder that if a doctor at a government hospital does not have security, then how safe are the common girls? Now, Swastika Mukherjee echoed that concern.
The actress commented, “This is beyond condemn. At least the culprits should be punished. This time, we will not raise a finger to the girl saying that it was her fault and she was at the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong way.” She asked, “Girls are not safe even at a hospital. Then where shall we go?” Recently, the web series Bijoya, starring Swastika, was released. The series is based on the suspicious death of a JU student. Swastika played the student’s mother in the series. She is a mother in real life as well. Hence, she participated in the protest demonstration.
Many people claim that the RG Kar Hospital incident reminds them of the student’s death at JU. But in this case, no one from the hospital accepted the theory of ragging. Kinjal Nanda, who is a doctor at the hospital, also said that ragging doesn’t happen there. But the girl’s death is simply unacceptable. Kinjal organized a candle march on Friday evening. Celebrities like Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Srijit Mukherji, Sreelekha Mitra, and Anupam Roy became vocal about the incident.
