Directed by Seththumaan-fame director Thamizh, the upcoming political drama stars Vijay Kumar and Preethi Anju Asrani

Vijay Kumar, who was last seen in 2023 action-drama Fight Club, will be returning to essay an interesting role in an upcoming political film, directed by Thamizh. The makers unveiled the title and first-look poster of the movie on Thursday.
The movie, which earlier had a tentative title RGF02, is now titled Election. The poster features Vijay Kumar sporting an outfit similar to that of a politician – a white shirt and a white veshti. The poster also showcases his party members greeting him, while actress Preethi Anju Asrani is seen walking behind the actor. Captioning the poster, "Election comes early, Unveiling the first look of #RGF02 titled #ELECTION starring @Vijay_B_Kumar, @preethiasrani_, Directed by 'Seththumaan' fame #Thamizh, Produced by @reelgood_adi of @reel_good_films, Polling starts soon (sic)". The makers hint at delivering a promising political drama this election year. Nonetheless, fans have been indeed excited to witness Vijay Kumar getting out of his comfort zone and experimenting with various other genres.
Directed by Seththumaan-fame director Thamizh, the upcoming film stars Preethi Anju Asrani as the female lead. On the technical front, the camera has been cranked by Mahendiran Jayaraju, editing has been handled by C S Premkumar and music for the film is composed by Govind Vasantha. The upcoming project is backed by the production house Reel Good Films.

Vijay Kumar was last seen in Abbas A Rahmath directorial actioner Fight Club. The movie was produced under Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut production venture G Squad Productions and was also backed by Reel Good Films.

The movie, which was released on December 15, received mixed to positive reviews. The performances of the lead actors were praised in reviews, while the weak screenplay was criticised. The film features Kartheekeyan Santhanam, Avinash Raghudevan, Shankar Thas, and Saravana Vel in the supporting roles, and is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
