Expectedly, it’s hard to keep Ram Gopal Varma out of the headlines. While he hogged the limelight for his views on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal over the last few days, he has simultaneously wrapped up all the pre-release formalities for his upcoming film - Vyham. Vyuham is the first of the two-part biopic on Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The second part is titled Sapadham.
For the unversed, Vyuham faced trouble from the CBFC after the board refused to certify the film for its similarity to real life characters and events. After clearing all the roadblocks, the film has now been certified U/A and will release in theatres on December 29. The political drama has a runtime of 126 minutes. Dasari Kiran Kumar is bankrolling the film under Ramadhuta Creations.
Holding the censor report in his hand, Ram Gopal Varma shared an image on social media and wrote, “BAD NEWS for BAD GUYS. VYUHAM censor CERTIFICATE. DECEMBER 29 th in THEATRES.” Meanwhile, the second part of the drama - Sapadham - will hit screens on January 25, 2024. Ajmal Amir, Manasa Radhakrishnan, Dhanunjay Prabhune and others play the lead roles in the films.
Ajmal Amir plays YS Jagan in the film while Manasa Radhakrishnan is cast as the politician’s wife Bharathi. Dhanunjay Prabhune, who acted in Ram Gopal Varma’s Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu, reprises Chandrababu Naidu’s role. Vyuham is centred on the circumstances which rose around the sudden death of ex AP CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the subsequent plots which were weaved by many.
Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Surekha and Vasu Inturi are also part of the cast. Directed by Ramgopal Varma, Vyuham and Sapadham have cinematography by Sajeesh Rajendran. Manish Thakurr is the editor and Anand is the composer. Multiple numbers from the film - Deeksha, the YSRCP song and the title track - are already popular on Youtube.
