Here's a new update on Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi's web series Six Suspects. The series, which is gearing up for an OTT release on Disney+Hotstar, is now titled The Great Indian Murder. The makers revealed the same with a first look promo video.
The streaming giant made the announcement on its official social media handles. The first look comes in the form of a ten-second video, where a number of faces are seen flashing in the background as the show’s title fades into view with a bloodied bullet hole right at its centre.
Check out the first look below.
The upcoming series stars Pratik Gandhi, Richa Chadha, Ashutosh Rana, Sharib Hashmi, Raghubir Yadav and Shashank Arora in the lead roles.
The series sees Richa and Pratik essay the role of police officers who are tasked with solving a murder. Sharing their look from the series, the actress had said that she would have to solve ‘the murkiest murder’ she had ever seen. Pratik, on the other hand, had referred to it as ‘a twisted tale’.
The mystery series is based on Vikas Swarup’s novel, Six Suspects, which revolves around the story of the murder of a powerful politician's son. The man gets murdered at a party he had thrown to celebrate his acquittal in a murder case and suspicion falls on his guests - a bureaucrat, an American tourist, a member of an ancient tribe on a quest, a Bollywood actress, a thief and a politician. Another one of Vikas’ books, Q&A, had gotten a screen adaptation in the form of the 2008 film, Slumdog Millionaire.
