The world is still in shock after the untimely demise of former Australian cricketer, Andrew Symonds. The two-time World Cup winning allrounder was pronounced dead earlier today, after being involved in a single-vehicle car crash in Townsville, Queensland.
While Symonds always found ways to entertain cricket fans even in a career laden by controversies, he was also able to entertain Indian viewers on TV and the big screen. The cricketer was part of the fifth season of the reality show, Bigg Boss, where he entered the house as a wildcard entry.
Symonds became friends with Sunny Leone in the house in the fifth season, which also saw Juhi Parmar, Mahek Chahal, Pooja Misrra, Shonali Nagrani, Shraddha Sharma, Pooja Bedi, and Shakti Kapoor as contestants.
Symonds talked to a news agency after his exit from the house, saying how he enjoyed his stay at the house and learnt to cook Roti and Indian curries. Before becoming friends with Leone, the cricketer had told Mail Today, "I am not offended by her (Sunny Leone) choice as a contestant. I will get to know her and hope she is a fun girl. We can enjoy our stay together."
The cricketer caught fans’ eyes by doing various tasks and speaking Hindi. One of the tasks Symonds was handed, was proposing random contestants at the house when a bell rang. In the spirit of the task, he proposed to Shonali Nagrani, Juhi Parmar and Pooja Missra Pooja, who was evicted from the house at an early stage, re-entered the competition with Symonds as his translator.
Symonds proved with his stint at Bigg Boss that he did not need to be on a cricket pitch to entertain his fans.
