Kannada actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty seemed to be bowled over by director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's latest release 12th Fail. On Monday, he took to X, formerly Twitter, to heap share his thoughts about the movie, calling it "deeply inspiring."

"This film upholds an important lesson. No matter how deep we fall , restarting life gives us a different dimension. @VVCFilms I am truly inspired by this storytelling," tweeted Rishab.

Rishab's praise for the movie is likely to give a boost to its performance in Karnataka. The movie was released in cinemas worldwide last week. The original Hindi film was also released in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Rishab's endorsement for the 12th Fail comes days after Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan gave it a big thumbs up. "I saw 12th Fail by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He's a friend of mine. These are the occasions you feel proud to say that you are somebody's friend. It's not an ambitious film. But, it's a film about ambition. And to craft such a film and make it work that is ambitious. He has embarked upon it and I am very happy that I saw the film. Most of them, who saw the film I spoke to had only one thing to say: long time since we saw a good film like this. I would like to second that motion," Kamal said after watching the film during a special screening in Chennai.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has written, directed and produced the movie, which claims to be inspired by true stories. Vikrant Massey essays the lead role of an ambitious youth from a very humble background. The movie tries to capture the plight of people from underprivileged backgrounds who aspire to change their social and economic status through academic achievements.

Even though 12th Fail was released in cinemas without much fanfare, the movie has exceeded expectations with its opening weekend performance. The movie seems to be doing far better than Kangana Ranaut's big-budget action drama Tejas.
