It’s been a while since Kannada actor Rishi had a theatrical release. He was in Thurthu Nirgamana and Mugilpete, but those were cameo appearances and his last release, Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege came directly on OTT . That would make 2019’s Sarvajanikarige Suvarnavakasha his last theatrical release. Well, that drought is set to end. Rishi will be in theatres with his film Ramana Avatara on May 10.

A few songs from the film are already in the public domain and now, they are prepping to give audiences a more in-depth view of the film with the trailer. The trailer of Ramana Avatara will be released on April 27. Directed by Vikas Pampapathi, Ramana Avatara also stars Pranitha Subhash, Shubra Aiyappa, Anirudh Acharya and Arun Sagar among others.

When the film was initially announced way back in 2018, a title teaser had suggested that Raj B Shetty and Danish Sait were also a part of it. Filming, which got delayed due to the pandemic, was eventually completed in March, 2022, and while media reports still mentioned the presence of Raj and Danish in Ramana Avatara, the teaser that came out eventually had no glimpse of either of them.

Rishi plays Rama in the film, who takes cognizance of the migration of youngsters from his village to the city and seeks to find a remedy to this labour drain. He leads a call to keep youngsters from leaving, but is it really feasible? The romantic comedy also has a couple of love arcs, with Shubra and then with Pranitha.

Up next, Rishi has Rudra Garuda Purana in Kannada, which seems him play a cop yet again after Kavaludaari. In Telugu, Rishi has both hero and villain roles to look forward to. While you are waiting for Rishi’s Ramana Avatara to come to theatres, audiences can check out his last two films, both of which are available on OTTplay Premium with the Simply South Pack.
