Ritabhari Chakraborty to act in a global project co-produced by India and Papua New Guinea

Soon after the shooting of Bahurupi, Ritabhari Chakraborty shared some good news. This time, she will act in a film of Papua New Guinea. This island nation will co-produce the film with India. The three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej will be the film’s composer.

The film’s name is Papa Buka. The internationally renowned Malayalam filmmaker Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran will direct the film. The High Commissioner of Papua New Guinea, Inbasekar Sundaramurthi, has officially announced the film. The Grammy winner artist Ricky Kej will take care of the music department. Ritabhari will start shooting in the island nation in mid-July. She is elated, and her friends and colleagues wish her the best.

,Ritabhari shared the news on her social media and wrote, "I am happy to announce my new film titled “Papa Buka” directed by the very talented, multiple national and international award winner Dr.Bijukumar Damodaran.This film is a pioneering cinematic collaboration between Papua New Guinea and India. Renowned director Pa. Ranjith presents the film under Neelam Productions along with actor Prakash Bare”s SILICON MEDIA Co-Producing the film with NAFA productions (Native Arts and Fashion Academy) in Papua New Guinea. The score will be composed by three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej @rickykej , further elevating the film’s appeal."

She further added, "The project was officially announced by the Honorable Shri. Inbasekar Sundaramurti, High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, and Mrs. Noelene Taula Wunum (NAFA) along with key project members, Parul Agrawal (Executive Producer), Adhya Prasad (Production Controller) and Indian film personnel Davis Manuel (Film Editor) and Dileep Daz (Chief Production Designer) in attendance at Papua New Guinea. Principal photography of the film is scheduled to commence in mid-July 2024 in Papua New Guinea."
