The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to start in Goa on Sunday. Like last year, Ritabhari Chakraborty will perform at the opening ceremony of IFFI on behalf of Bengal this year also. Varun Dhawan, Sarah Ali Khan, and Kartik Ariyan will also perform at the event. Mrunal Thakur and Aparsakti Khurana will host the show.

In an interview with Anandabazar Patrika, the actress expressed her joy. “This is a matter of great honour for me that they invited me for the second time. Last year, it was Mouni Roy who danced on behalf of north-east India. This time I will represent Bengal and the Northeast. There will be a Bihu dance, accompanied by Dugga Elo, Tapa Tini, and popular northeast songs like Jile Le,” said an overjoyed Ritabhari.

The actress went to Mumbai to practice dancing. For the last few days, the practice has been going on in the studio there. Mudassar Khan of Dhinka Chika-fame is choreographing Ritabhari's dance. Ritabhari is going to Goa from Mumbai, where the stage rehearsal will take place. Sunday will see the opening ceremony and the red carpet. Ritabhari will appear on the stage in a Bengali dress. However, she will wear a western on the red carpet.” The union minister of sports and information broadcasting Anurag Thakur has arranged a dinner for the guests at the end of the programme.
