Ritvik Sahore’s web series Jamnapaar is finally out and even though it has managed to create buzz, the show is not among the top five OTT originals of the week. This is according to a list released by Ormax Media. There’s a popular franchise show which beat it to the list. Both (among many) are the newest entrants in the week of May 17-23. Can you guess which are the other shows that made it to the top 10 list?
Jamnapaar misses top 5 spot
Released on Amazon MiniTV on May 24, Ritvik Sahore’s Jamnapaar, a story based in Delhi, is not yet among the top five OTT originals of the week. The show came sixth on the list, and was beaten by a popular franchise show.
Which show beat it?
Baahubali, which became the highest earning Indian movie, got a franchise series that released on May 17. The show, Baahubali: Crown of Blood, ranked fifth on the list. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chaddha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal, continued to rule with Panchayat 3 following closely behind. Vijay Raaz’s Murder in Mahim and the SonyLIV show Undekhi 3 came on the third and fourth position on the list.
Newer entrants in bottom four
Despite the buzz, Bridgerton season 3 came last on the list. The Broken News season 2, featuring Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar, dropped to the eighth spot. Jimmy Sheirgill’s Ranneeti ranked seventh. The newest entrant on the list came in the form of Hina Khan’s show, Namacool. This ranked ninth on the list.
No memorable releases this week
This week was among those where not too many popular shows were out on OTT. However, that will change next week, for Jitendra Kumar’s Panchayat 3 will be out on May 28. Neha Sharma’s Illegal season 3 will also be releasing a day later, on May 29.
