With just a few days to the release of his latest film Veetla Vishesham, RJ Balaji has been aggressively promoting the film. Today, the actor released a video, in which he took a dig at himself. The interview which was set in the form of a satire, had Balaji answering a volley of questions searched on Google. He clarified on questions like his educational qualification, age, marital status, why he rejected the offer for honorary doctorates, about his alter ego Panju Mittai, his salary during IPL commentary days, what he eats during a day etc. Taking to his social media page, RJ Balaji shared, "Today's #VeetlaVishesham special Video !!! 😆 Google Auto correct …!!! 🤣😈💖 #VeetlaVisheshamFromJune17 (sic)."

When the idea of an open house audio launch was announced, RJ Balaji stated that his alter ego Panju Mittai had questioned if 50 people would come. He added that he didn't expect the auditorium to be packed to the rafters with people. "Even I didn't expect the launch to become so big. The show went on till 11.30pm. We took pictures together, we interacted with each other. A youngster called Alwar from Annur had sent a message on Twitter saying that he would love to come for the launch but he didn't how to attend it as he was in the outskirts of Coimbatore. Our team immediately got in touch with him and organised his travel. He arrived for the launch, that too on a flight for the first time ever. He was there throughout the audio launch, stayed a luxury hotel and went back home happily."

Veetla Visesham, a remake of the Hindi film Badhaai Ho that featured Ayushmann Khuranna and Sanya Malhotra in the lead and was directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, is all set to release in theatres on June 17. Balaji has co-written and co-directed the film with NJ Saravanan, with whom he had earlier collaborated for Mookuthi Amman, which had Nayanthara in the lead.
