RK/RKAY trailer: Mallika Sherawat, Rajat Kapoor's quirky mysterious tale will make you scratch your head

The trailer of Mallika Sherawat, Rajat Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey's RK/RKAY is out. The upcoming film has been written and directed by Kapoor himself. The movie follows the tale of a filmmaker, who is left shocked along with his whole unit when the protagonist of his project is nowhere to be found. 

The latest trailer begins with Kapoor explaining that he has written a story and wants to make a film on it. Moving on, he can be seen giving a romantic shot with Mallika and then another intense shot with Shorey. Suddenly, one of the crew members calls him and informs him that the main protagonist has left the shot and is nowhere to be found. they can't even find him in the shots that have been filmed earlier. The story further goes into the world behind the scenes of the cinematic world where RK and his team go around to find the protagonist.

Reportedly, before its theatrical release, the film has already marked its presence at several international festivals including Shanghai international film festival, River to River Festival in Florence, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, and Pune International Film Festival.

Mallika shared the official trailer on her Instagram handle with a quirky caption which is perfect for the tone of the film. The post reads, "I’ve worked in so many films but it has happened for the first time that Humari film ka Hero gayab ho gaya hai!!! #Rk/#Rkay releasing 22 July 2022 in theatres #RajatKapoor @RanvirShorey @KubbraSait @manurishichadha (sic)."

Backed by Priyam Srivastava and Harshita Karkare under Priyanshi Films, the mystery film also has some of the finest talents in the industry including Kubbra Sait, Manu Rishi Chadha, Chandrachoor Rai, Abhijeet Deshpande, Abhishek Sharrma, Grace Girdhar and Vaishali Malhara in key roles.

RK/RKAY is slated to release on July 22 in theatres.
