Robinhood locks its OTT and TV premiere release time, here's what we know

Robinhood is Nithiin's new film directed by Venky Kudumula of Chalo and Bheeshma fame. The action comedy was in the making for over two years and finally hit screens on March 28, 2025, but failed to create any impact at the box office. We at OTTplay have already revealed that ZEE5 has bagged the digital rights to the film and will stream Robinhood starting May 10, 2025.

Robinhood OTT release date

Now, the latest update is that the TV premiere will also happen on the same date on ZEE5. This is part of a new trend where some OTT platforms launch films simultaneously on digital and television, something we saw previously with ZEE5's release Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. The news is that the film will stream on Zee networks at 5 PM on May 10, 2025.

Robinhood stars Pelli SandaD fame Sreeleela as the female lead, and her chemistry with Nithiin was appreciated. However, the OTT release is a bit worrying for the team, as the film could face even harsher trolling online. That said, Robinhood is likely to receive good traction on OTT since many missed it in theaters. ZEE5 is also promoting the film aggressively.

Robinhood failed to deliver at the box office

Nithiin, who needed a hit to bounce back, had pinned high hopes on Robinhood. Unfortunately, despite featuring good comedy, the action drama ended as a box-office dud. The collections of the film were also poor and landed the makers in losses. 

Nithiin has now moved on to his next film titled Thammudu, which is set to hit screens on July 4, 2025. The film stars Saptami Gowda of Kantara fame as the female lead. For now, Robinhood is gearing up for its OTT release with a decent buzz surrounding it. Stay tuned for more updates.
