Rocket Boys trailer: Jim Sarbh turns Dr Homi Bhabha, Ishwak Singh is Dr Vikram Sarabhai

Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh are all set to play the role of India’s renowned scientists aka Dr. Homi Bhabhi and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai respectively, in the upcoming Sony LIV web series titled Rocket Boys. As the name suggests, the story follows how the duo started a project together – to make a rocket. Did it go as expected? That is explored in the trailer and will further be seen in the series.

Dr. Homi Bhabha is seen as a fun scientist who pretends to be ruthless on more than one occasion. However, his real intentions are always superior. Jim, being a Parsi himself, takes on the role of the renowned Indian scientist who did his research on making atom bombs. That aspect is also shown in the trailer.

Dr. Homi Bhabha was a renowned scientist of his time and took Dr. Vikram Sarabhai as his apprentice. The latter was too adamant on building a rocket from the scratch so people could travel to space. His dream has not only become a reality today but is expected to be the only reality in the future thanks to the rising alarm for global warming.

For the uninitiated, Dr. Vikram is known as the Father of Indian Space Program, which was an initiative he took along with Dr. Homi. His personal life with Mrinalini is also explored through the series.

The interesting part about the series comes in the form of former Indian president, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The much loved National figure, also a scientist, is believed to have learnt a lot under Dr. Vikram.

Dr. APJ collaborated with Dr. Vikram for ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). The former president is also known as the ‘missile man’ since he invented what became India’s defence system (how efficient it was is another argument amongst the public, which the series might or might not deal with).

Dr. Kalam played a huge role during the nuclear testing in the form of Pokhran – II, which took place in Gujarat. While Dr. Homi was awarded Padma Bhushan, Dr. APJ received Bharat Ratna for his contribution to science.
