R Madhavan’s highly awaited directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, finally hit the silver screens this year. The biographical drama saw Madhavan tackle the story of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was falsely accused of espionage charges during the 1990s, which led him on a decades long journey to prove his innocence. The film had released on the big screen on July 1, and soon made its way onto Amazon Prime Video. The film had released on the streaming giant’s platform in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada, and audiences have been patiently waiting for the film’s Hindi version to drop on OTT. The wait is finally over, as Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (Hindi) has finally locked in on an OTT platform.
The biographical drama had been simultaneously shot in Hindi, Tamil and English, with Madhavan starring in the film as well as directing, writing and producing it as well. Nambi Narayan himself had declared that Madhavan was the ‘perfect choice’ to essay the former’s life story on screen.
In addition to Madhavan, the film also saw Simran, Karthik Kumar, Misha Ghoshal, Dinesh Prabhakar and Mohan Raman in pivotal roles. The film also featured extended cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya as well. While the former appeared in the English and Hindi versions, the latter had a cameo in the Tamil version.

A part of the review of the film on OTTplay reads “Madhavan single-handedly shoulders the movie with his effortless performance as the determined scientist and the disheartened, but strong family man”.
