Every now and then, #YashBoss and #Yash19 trend on social media, when even the slightest hint of a possible announcement of the Rocking Star’s next venture is in the air. Interestingly, this time around, the trend began last evening, but it really picked up this morning when Yash posted a video of a video of him having fun at an outdoor target practice range. His caption to the video caught the attention of his fans immediately. “There is always a way to reach the target, the challenge is to spot it!! Thank you my man JJ Perry, what a fantastic day!! Next time it's gotta be Kalashnikov !! 😉,” Yash wrote.
JJ Perry, as it turns out, is an award winning American martial artist, action director, actor, and stuntman, best known for his work on Keanu Reeves’ John Wick franchise. Fans, of course, began speculating that Yash could be collaborating with Perry on his next, the much-awaited 19thproject. Since the release of KGF: Chapter 2 in April this year, die-hard Yash followers have been waiting for word on what he would do next. For the longest time, the rumour was that he’s committed to a film with Mufti maker Narthan, but when KGF 2 came out and hinted at a possible third instalment of the saga, Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films not only confirmed that there would be another KGF film, but also went as far as saying that they would go on floors by the end of the year. While the production house quickly went back on that, since director Prashant Neel is busy with Prabhas’ Salaar and is committed to a film with NTR Jr too, KGF3 is definitely on the cards.
Amid all this, there was also buzz that Yash would instead do a film with Tamil filmmaker Shankar. The film will, reportedly, be based on Su Venkatesan's epic Tamil novel Velpari, a story centred on the Velir tribal king Pari, which is also why Yash has not given up on his bearded and long-haired KGF look. While it was first thought that he’d retained the look for KGF3 continuity, a poster of him dressed like a warrior gave credence to the rumours about a film with Shankar. And if JJ Perry is choreographing the action sequences, well, we are in for quite a ride.
