On Thursday, filmmaker Karan Johar announced that Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani would now be released on July 28. The movie, which was made by Dharma Productions, was supposed to release on February 10, 2023. However, at the end of last year, the date was changed to April 28, 2023.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Johar's last directorial, was released in 2016. He announced its release on his own Instagram account. "They say ‘sabr ka phal meetha hota hai’, so to increase the mithaas of this incredibly special story, we're coming with a whole lot of love! Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi star in the family drama Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The writers of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani are Shashank Khaitan, Sumit Roy, and Ishita Moitra.
The movie went on floors on August 20, 2021. Before travelling to Moscow in September 2021 for a song shoot with Singh and Bhatt, the first schedule was held in Mumbai. The second schedule began in October 2021 in Delhi.
The Omicron variant spread, which pushed back the next schedule, which was supposed to happen in early 2022. The third schedule finally began in April 2022, close to Mumbai and Delhi. Except for a song, whose recording was put off until early 2023 due to Bhatt's pregnancy, the movie was officially finished on August 1, 2022, according to a video released by Dharma Productions.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani reunites Ranveer and Alia after Gully Boy. The film is set to be their first release of the year.
