The worldwide box office for "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has surpassed Rs 300 crore, Dharma Productions reported on Friday. The family comedy, which Johar directed stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead parts and tells the story of Rocky and Rani, a couple from very different class and cultural backgrounds.
On social media, Dharma Productions posted the most recent global box office totals for the movie. They wrote: "A prem kahaani that is winning hearts ACROSS THE GLOBE!
#RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani, a film by Karan Johar in his 25th anniversary year, in cinemas NOW!"
RARKPK has minted Rs 140 crore in India.
Despite facing competition from recent released like Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starred Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar-Yami Gautam-Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2, the film is still going strong at the box office. The film was well-receieved by the critics all over and has been getting all the praises for the right amount of emotions, laughter, performances and love.
The family comedy, which Johar directed in celebration of his 25th year in the business. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog, Anjali Anand, and Namit Das. The film, which released on July 28, is credited with having a script and dialogue written by Shashank Khaitan, Sumit Roy, and Ishita Moitra.
