The upcoming film Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty, is a move in the same direction. The filmmaker claims that he makes movies to delight the audience.

Shetty, who is well-known for action comedies like the Golmaal series and All the Best: Fun Begins (2009) as well as action dramas like the Singham films, expressed confidence that his most recent film will be well-received by audiences.

The movie Cirkus, which stars Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma, is based on William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors. Earlier, a film titled Angoor, starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma and based on the same play was released back in the 1980s.

Ahead of the release, Shetty said in an interview that Cirkus is for the viewers who loved All the Best and Golmaal; that's the kind of movie it is.

The director further remarked that he is confident they're going to enjoy it because he has seen the movie. When they first started, he was simply a filmmaker making movies. Then, because of the support he received from the crowd, it became their movie. As a result, Shetty now produces films for them and considers it a responsibility.

Cirkus also features Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, Mukesh Tiwari, Meraj Ahmad, Vrajesh Hirjee, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murali Sharma, Tiku Talsania, Vijay Patkar, Brijendra Kala, Anil Charanjeett, Uday Tikekar, Abhinay Raj Singh, and Sulabha Arya in pivotal roles.

Recently, the first song from Cirkus, Current Laga Re, was launched, which features Deepika Padukone shaking her leg with Ranveer.

Cirkus is the third movie that Rohit and Ranveer have worked on together, after Simmba and Sooryavanshi (in which he had an extended cameo). The comedy film was shot amid the pandemic, and it finally got a release date during the Christmas weekend this year, on December 23, 2022.
