Roktobeej: Nandy Sisters elated to be part of Shiboprosad-Nandyta’s Pujo special

Antara Nandy worked with AR Rahman as a playback singer in the film Ponniyin Selvan: I. But she lamented that they do not get calls for Bengali films. Now their wishes are fulfilled. Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee's new film Raktobeej will be released during Durga Puja. A number of surprises are offered by the directors. Victor Banerjee will, for the first time, appear in a Windows Production picture. Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty will pair up for the first time. Now the next surprise came. Antara and Ankita Nandy, of Nandy Sisters, will sing in this film.

Nandy sisters are hugely popular on social media. They sing songs playing the ukulele. They sing in different languages, including Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, etc. Several of their videos went viral on social media, and they are getting many offers.

Both of the sisters will sing in Raktobeej. The recording was done recently. Antara gave an interview with Anandabazar and said that her dream was fulfilled. In her words, “We are elated to sing together in a Bengali film. We lived in Kolkata for thirteen years, we grew up here. We must sing here. I was sad before. But now we have come.”

Antara previously worked on a music video, which was her first work in Bengali. This time, they will sing a film song where Anindya Chatterjee is the music director.
