Kamal Haasan's Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has been raking in the moolah, ever since it got released in theatres. Suriya's extended cameo appearance as Rolex in the climax was one of the whistle-worthy moments, and fans haven't stopped going gaga about the actor's blood-smeared face, on social media. Amid this brouhaha, Suriya has shared a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram, thanking his make-up artiste Serina Tixeira for "the Rolex look".
A few days ago, Kamal Haasan, presented his Rolex watch to Suriya, as a token of gratitude, considering how Vikram turned out a massive hit. "Suriya shook the big screen by his three-minute presence in Vikram. He did this for the love he has for me. And, I will thank him in the next film, where we will share screen space," Kamal Haasan confirmed.
Also featuring Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi, besides Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Gayathrie Shankar, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vasanthi and others, this action-thriller has become the highest-grossing Tamil film in Malaysia, after KGF: Chapter 2. In fact, Vikram is inching closer towards the Rs 300 mark at the box office, worldwide.
On the acting front, Suriya has Vetrimaaran's Vaadivaasal, besides an untitled film with Bala and Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel, in the pipeline. Additionally, the actor will feature in a cameo role in Madhavan's directorial, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
Apart from these, Suriya will be seen in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. Directed by Sudha Kongara, who helmed the original film in Tamil, the project went on floors this April. Multiple reports confirm that Suriya was a part of the shoot that took place in Chennai. Though it is unclear which role he will play, he shot for a few hours in the Airport terminal recently.
While Akshay Kumar reprises Suriya’s role from the original, Radhika Madhan will step into Aparna Balamurali’s shoes. After wrapping up the first schedule in Mumbai, the makers shifted their base to Chennai, for its second leg of shooting, a few days ago.
Meantime, hearsay is that Suriya will go on a vacation to the US, along with Jyotika and two children, soon. Once he is back, he will resume work on Bala's film, where they will head to Goa, for a month-long schedule. Tentatively titled Suriya 41, this one marks Suriya’s collaboration with Bala, after 18 years.
