The trailer for Ron's Gone Wrong is out and the computer-animated sci-fi comedy is about a socially awkward middle-schooler named Barney. In the trailer, it's seen that he gets new walking, talking and a digitally connected device named Ron. It's supposed to be his 'Best Friend out of the Box'. However, Ron’s hilarious malfunctions set against the backdrop of the social media age.
It launches them into an action-packed journey in which boy Barney and robot Robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship.
Ron's Gone Wrong features voiceover by Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner and Thomas Barbusca.
While Liam Payne has composed and crooned the original track of the film titled Sunshine which was released earlier this year.
Ron's Gone Wrong is directed by Jean-Philippe Vine and Sarah Smith, while Smith co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Baynham. The film is produced by Lara Breay and Julie Lockhart.
The film is set to hit the big screens in India on October 22, 2021. However, the film had its world premiere at the 2021 BFI London Film Festival held in October this year.
As per reports in Animation Magazine, Locksmith co-founders Sarah Smith and Julie Lockhart spoke about Ron's Gone Wrong in a statement. They said, "It couldn’t be timelier to be telling the story of the joys of analogue, real-world friendship in a world dominated by online relationships."
They added that while all around are living through chat, posts and likes, the dorky, contrarian and hilarious friendship of Barney and Ron which is built through shared experience remind them of the best version of growing up.
Smith and Lockhart are incredibly proud of both the story and artistry of their first film under Locksmith.
