Another unfortunate news has come across for the movie-buffs of India. After Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey, now SS Rajamouli’s highly-anticipated film RRR’s release date has also been indefinitely postponed due to the rapid spread of the Omicron wave. The makers of the Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR, Ram Charan starrer just announced the news on social media. 

The makers took the statement to Twitter and post it through the official Twitter account of RRR. The caption reads, “Keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind, we are forced to postpone our film. Our sincere thanks to all the fans and audience for their unconditional love. #RRRPostponed #RRRMovie (sic).”

The makers also promised to bring back The Glory Of Indian Cinema when the time is right.

The cast and crew of the film including Alia, Jr NTR, Charan and Rajamouli have been rigorously promoting the film for the past few weeks. From the comedy shows like The Kapil Sharma Show to the reality TV shows such as Bigg Boss 15, the actors and the director of RRR have seen on the screen talking about their forthcoming film.

The unfortunate action has been taken due to the rapidly shutting down of the theatres in most of the states of the country due to the spread of the new virus.

Made with a budget of Rs. 400 crores, the period action drama film also features Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson and Shriya Saran in significant roles.

Netflix will be streaming the Hindi version of RRR post the theatrical release, while ZEE5 has bagged the OTT rights for the South Indian languages of the movie.
