Recently, the makers released a new documentary titled RRR: Behind and Beyond, showcasing behind-the-scenes moments and the making of the film. Although the documentary was also released in theaters, it received a lukewarm response.
RRR Behind and Beyond locks its OTT platform and release date
The latest update reveals that Netflix has acquired the digital rights to the documentary and will make it available for streaming from December 27, 2024. A source close to the production disclosed that Netflix paid a substantial amount to secure these rights.
The documentary features the lead cast—Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and S. S. Rajamouli—offering insights into the making of the film. One particularly memorable sequence in RRR involved Jr NTR's grand entry with wild animals during a fight scene. Rajamouli breaks down the process behind shooting this iconic moment, revealing fascinating behind-the-scenes secrets.

RRR was produced by D. V. V. Danayya, who invested heavily in the film. One of the major interval fight scenes reportedly took 45 days to shoot, underscoring Rajamouli’s meticulous and grand approach to filmmaking.
However, the decision to release the documentary in theaters faced backlash from fans, with many criticizing the move as a cash grab. The underwhelming theatrical response reinforced this sentiment.
Meanwhile, Rajamouli is now focused on pre-production for his next venture, an adventure thriller starring Mahesh Babu. The film, produced by K. L. Narayana on a massive budget, is set to begin shooting in January 2025. Fans eagerly await updates on this ambitious project. For now, RRR: Behind and Beyond is set to stream on December 27, 2024.
