SS Rajamouli is turning out to be a master in breaking his own records. While he showed the potential of Telugu cinema with the two-part Baahubali series, his latest release RRR is breaking every possible record set by Baahubali 2 and will hold up well during the weekdays too, going by reports. The Jr NTR, Ram Charan starrer, which released in five languages, collected close to Rs 500 crore in its first weekend. A drop was obviously expected starting from Monday but still RRR has managed to stand tall, both in overseas circuits and India too.

The period drama is particularly unstoppable in USA, where it collected $5 million with the premiere and first day collections alone. Going by the hourly gross for Monday's collections for the movie in the US, the indications are very clear that RRR is within striking distance of collecting $10 million. RRR, until 9.50 pm shows in the US, has collected nearly $3,80,000 on Monday and looks set for more. All of this was possible because of the strong content, aggressive promotional strategy by the US distributor Sarigama Cinemas.

Back home in the Nizam area, RRR earned Rs 8.15 crore on its first Monday, increasing its overall tally in the region to Rs 61.6 crore. In the Uttarandhra region, the film collected a little more than Rs 2 crore (Rs 2.26 crore), a fantastic number for a weekday. In both the Telugu states put together (AP and Telangana), RRR amassed a share of Rs 17.5 crore yesterday. The share for the film in all the four days in Telugu states since its release is Rs 154.4 crore, standing only second to Baahubali 2.

Even in its Hindi version, RRR is continuing to prove its worth, where as per early estimates, the film has managed to garner a figure between Rs 16-18 crore on Monday, more than what the recent box office success The Kashmir Files managed to collect on its first Monday. RRR is expected to perform well in the Hindi-speaking belt even today, with the advance booking collections coming close to Rs 4 crore in over 26 cities. The film's collections have been affected in Kerala owing to the ongoing strike.

RRR, also starring Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Rahul Ramakrishna and others, is produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainments. The film has music by MM Keeravaani, cinematography by Senthil Kumar and production design by Sabu Cyril.
