SS Rajamouli’s RRR is roaring across India. The Hindi version itself is nearing the 100-crore club. The movie, which released on Friday, held on well on day i.e. on its first Monday as well.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film has minted Rs. 91.50 crores in total and Rs. 17 crores on its first Monday. Box Office India, on the other hand, reports that RRR minted Rs. 16.75 crores on its first Monday and the total collections of the film are Rs. 91.25 crores.
Nonetheless, it is true that RRR is inching closer to Rs. 100 crore club. Not just that, the film has become the highest grossing film of first Monday Box Office in the post-pandemic era. The movie has beaten Sooryavanshi as well as The Kashmir Files to cross that benchmark.
RRR saw a drop on Monday from the Sunday collections but that is very normal since the movie-going crowd also comes to half over the weekdays as compared to the weekends. The good part for RRR here is it barely saw 25% drop from Delhi-NCR and Punjab, which is not even a drop when looking at the overall picture. The film also performed as expected in Gujarat, Central India, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The movie collected Rs. 19 crores on its opening day i.e. on day 1 Friday. It then went on to grow at the Box Office on day 2 Saturday. The movie had earned Rs. 24 crores on Saturday but the real tremendous growth was seen in its Sunday Box Office collections. The film had earned Rs. 31.50 crores on day 3 Sunday and neared Rs. 75 crore mark in three days itself, only from the Hindi version.
Monday was going to be very crucial for RRR since it would decide whether the viewers have accepted the film or not. However, going by the collections, the movie has not only been accepted by also loved by the audiences. The Hindi version of RRR will cross Rs. 100 crore mark on day 5 Tuesday and it should be a smooth journey for the movie from there.
