RRR hit theatres around the world on March 25, and has been a force to be reckoned with since. All through its theatrical run, the movie set multiple box office records and went on to gross over Rs. 1000 crore. Now the movie has also set a massive record following its digital release on Netflix.
According to Netflix, the Hindi dubbed version of the period action drama has now become the most popular Indian film on the streaming platform. With a runtime of 3 hours and 2, the movie was streamed for "over 45 million hours" across the world.
While the movie was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, its Hindi version started streaming on the platform from May 20, after over two months of its theatrical release.
Starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead, the movie brings together Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two revolutionaries who waged war against the British. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris in important roles.
The movie received largely positive reviews following its highly-anticipated release, and went on to finish with over Rs. 1200 at the box office, becoming on of the highest grossing Indian movies to be made.
