Set in the 1920s, the upcoming Telugu film tells a fictionalised story of two real South Indian freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who played a major role in two prominent tribal and peasant rebellions in the country against the British Raj. Popular Tollywood heavyweights Ram Charan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. will portray the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem on screen. In addition to the duo, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris and Samuthirakani will also be seen in pivotal roles.

RRR will feature S. S. Rajamouli in the director’s chair, who is best known for the epic fantasy Baahubali: The Beginning and its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film is produced by D. V. V. Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainments with a script penned by Rajamouli himself based on a story by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad.
