RRR had its global release on March 25 and the movie has been on a box office rampage ever since. The Ram Charan-Jr. NTR starrer also became just the third Indian movie to make it to the Rs. 1000 crore club worldwide. The director has now opened up about his unique achievement.

The filmmaker said in his statement that he is grateful, overwhelmed and humbled. “The biggest want of a storyteller is to have the maximum number of listeners to listen to his story. I’m grateful, humbled and overwhelmed that I have not just one but two such films that received the kind of reception they did and entered the 1000 crore club,” he said.

The director added that the success of both RRR and his previous film, Baahubali: The Conclusion confirms that a movie on human emotions can translate language and geographic boundaries.

RRR, which was one of the most-anticipated Indian movies of the year, joined the Rs. 1000 crore club on its 16th day. RRR also became just the third movie to join the exclusive club after Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Prabhas’ Baahubali: The Conclusion.

While Rajamouli also becomes the only Indian director to have two movies in the Rs. 1000 crore club, he also has three movies - Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and RRR - in the top 10 highest-grossing Indian movies list.

RRR has extended cameos from Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn and also features Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran and Edward Sonnenblick.

The movie, which has received positive reviews from critics, is available in theatres around the world.
