Even as RRR is still making waves in theatres, Ram Charan is gearing up for the release of his next film, where he shares the screen with his father Chiranjeevi. The RRR star recently opened up about working with his father in the upcoming Koratala Siva directorial.
In conversation with Variety, Charan said that working with his father on the film was ‘a dream come true’ and that he was able to learn a lot by working with Chiranjeevi. Charan recalls how Chiranjeevi would let the former make mistakes during the shoot, rather than hold his hand. Chiranjeevi gave Charan the full freedom to live out the character, make mistakes and do as many retakes as was needed. “But he didn’t have any problem, never lost his cool, and that I’m really thankful for,” added Charan.
In Acharya, Chiranjeevi reportedly essays the role of a social reformer taking a stance against corruption. Charan essays the role of a ‘comrade’ who respects the reformer and joins him in his quest. The film marks the duo’s first major onscreen collaboration together, although Chiranjeevi has made appearances in Charan’s films such as Magadheera (2009) and Bruce Lee: The Fighter (2015). Magadheera also featured his Acharya co-star Kajal Aggarwal.
Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde essay the role of the female leads in the film which also features Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali, and Tanikella Bharani in pivotal roles. The upcoming film has been written and directed by Siva and bankrolled under the banners of Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment by Charan and Niranjan Reddy.
Acharya will be released in theatres on April 29.
