The dance number Naatu Naatu from RRR has become a rage among music fans worldwide since it bagged the Oscars in the best original song category. And the compliments for the makers of RRR are pouring in from all parts of the world. But, the best compliment, according to songwriter Chandrabose, came from Hollywood superstar Tom Crusie.

Chandrabose revealed that he had the opportunity to meet Cruise during a luncheon organised by the Academy for all the Oscar nominees. And he was surprised to see that Curise was sitting right next to his table.

"I walked up to Tom Cruise and introduced myself. He said, ‘wow, I love RRR, I love Naatu Naatu.’ To hear the word Naatu come from a legendary actor like Tom Cruise, it’s a matter of happiness," he told Sakshi TV.

Chandrabose won the Oscar for writing the lyrics of Naatu Naatu. He spent about 19 months penning the song and he took most of the inspiration from his childhood. Composed by MM Keeravani, the song was an instant hit when the filmmakers released it before the film's release. The lyrical video also showed Jr NTR and Ram Charan performing the world-famous synchronized hook step. And the dance moves broke the internet. The popularity of the song helped it bag several top awards including the Golden Globes. The film created history when it became the first film from an Indian production to bag the prestigious Oscars in the best original song category.

Naatu Naatu was performed at the Oscars and it received a standing ovation from high-profile audiences.
