RRR, starring NTR Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, has been breaking several records not only at the Indian box office but also globally. SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, which was released last week has already collected over Rs 600 crore worldwide. It also became the fastest movie to enter the 100 crore club post-pandemic. And looks like, there are going to be more milestones for the epic period drama.
Now, there are reports stating that the film has broken the records of Tom Holland’s Uncharted and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Ambulance at the UK box office. The film was released across 161 screens in the UK. The trade reports show that the film has collected £650,204 (Rs 64.86 crore) so far. It is the second-highest grosser this year. Currently, Robert Pattinson's The Batman is ruling the box offices in the UK and Ireland for the fourth weekend in a row. It has collected £1.66 million from these territories so far. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Ambulance, directed by Michael Bay has earned third place with £521,049 and Uncharted fourth place. It had collected £349,457 and now, has earned a total of £23.2 million after seven weekends.
But RRR has outperformed other Bollywood releases in the country. No wonder why. The makers have ensured that the film is widely promoted. From a huge number of screens to grand promotions, the makers have made everything larger than life. The film is expected to beat even Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi in a few days. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film has collected over £6,83,602 (Rs 6.87 crore) so far.
