It looks like this Tamil New Year (April 14) is going to be a packed one at the theatres. A slew of films starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Vijay Antony, Raghava Lawrence, Arulnithi and Yogi Babu in the leads, are gearing up for release this Puthandu. Check out the entire list below.

Rudhran
Raghava Lawrence is all set to unleash his mass avatar in Rudhran. It's not a surprise that the poster of the film has the tagline, 'Evil is not born, it is created'. The long-delayed film, directed by debutant Kathiresan, and with Priya Bhavani Shankar as the leading lady, will release in five languages.

Thiruvin Kural
Arulnithi gets into experimental mode yet again as he plays a man with hearing disability in Thiruvin Kural, which has Aathmika as the leading lady. The film is helmed by Harish Prabhu and it looks like Thiruvin Kural is a medical crime thriller. Sam CS has scored the music.

Soppana Sundari
Aishwarya Rajesh plays the lead in this dark comedy, helmed by SG Charles. Going by the trailer, it looks like a bunch of people win a car but end up losing the bill that will help claim the winner's prize. The film stars Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Redin Kingsley, Deepa Shankar, Karunakaran, Sunil Reddy, Augustin and Bjorn Surrao.

Yaanai Mugathaan
As the title suggests, Yaanai Mugathaan, featuring Yogi Babu and Ramesh Thilak, is a fantasy film that revolves around Lord Vinayagar. While Ramesh plays a Vinayagar devotee, Yogi Babu will be seen in a dual role, one that of the god himself. The film marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam director Rejishh Midhila.

Vijay Antony's long-delayed Tamilarasan, directed by Babu Yogeswaran is gearing up to hit screens next week. While Ramya Nambeesan plays the leading lady, the film will have Vijay Antony in a power-packed role, where he battles a dreaded network comprising cops and influential people.

This horror comedy directed by Arun Karthik, features Mahendran and Kavya Arivumani in the lead. The film is written, directed and produced by Na Arun Karthick. According to the teaser, it looks like a ghost is on a killing spree in Mahendran's village, where it goes on to murder all those in an inter-caste relationship.
