Rudra: The Edge of Darkness certainly piqued fans’ interests with its intriguing trailer. The makers recently gave viewers a peek behind the curtain through a behind-the-scenes video to show what went into making the highly awaited show.

The short clip, which can be viewed on Disney+ Hotstar’s official social media handles, takes viewers back to certain thrilling scenes featured in the series’ trailer, which was released a few days ago. The BTS clip shows a side-by-side comparison between the trailer scene and what went behind in bringing that scene to the screen. The video also highlights the stark difference in tones, with the scenes from the trailer being tinted with a darker hue, signalling at the dark and mysterious subject matter that the gritty crime drama deals with.

The upcoming series is based on the British television show Luther, which starred Idris Elba in the lead. It follows the story of a skilled police officer, hardened by his endless exposure to gruesome crimes. Through the course of his investigations, which leads him to cross paths with some dangerous and maniacal individuals, the officer forms an unlikely bond with a sociopathic woman as well.

Ajay Devgn stars as the titular protagonist and Raashi Khanna essays the role of the sociopath who Rudra befriends. In addition to the two, the series also features Esha Deol, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tarun Gahlot, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Satyadeep Misra in pivotal roles. Rajesh Mapuskar has directed the series, which marks Devgn’s debut web series. The series is produced by Applause entertainment.

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar, and will be available to stream in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, and Bengali. A release date is yet to be announced.
