Rudranil Ghosh and Rahul Banerjee to share the screen for the first time in Joydeep Mukherjee’s next

Rudranil Ghosh and Rahul Banerjee will be seen together in a film for the first time in Joydeep Mukherjee’s next, Akash Angshata Meghla. Based on two short stories by author Swapnamoy Chakraborty, the film will also feature Ankita Chakraborty and Basabdatta Chatterjee. Rahul, who plays Pulak Ghoshal in Srijit Mukherji’s Feludar Goyendagiri on Hoichoi, will pair up with Basabdatta. Ankita will play the character of Rudranil’s wife. 

The film deals with lock-out at a factory and the subsequent misery of the labourers. Besides the lead cast, the film will also feature Daminee Benny Basu, Sankar Debnath, Debdut Ghosh, Rumki Chatterjee, Kaushik Kar, Sudip Sarkar and others. 

According to reports, Joydeep has penned the script. He has blended two different short stories of Swapnamoy. The story delves into the life of Roshomoy Bandyopadhyay. He is faced with an unforeseen misery with his wife and daughter when the jute mill he used to work in has been shut down by the owners. He actively participates in the trade union movement to put pressure on the owners. But he fails to continue. His reality forces him to become a vendor instead. Rudraneel will be seen as Roshomoy. 

Meanwhile, Anirban is a meritorious student. He is forced to give up his studies after his father loses his job due to the factory lockdown. His girlfriend Anandi also faces trouble. Rahul will play the character of Anirban. 

The film delves into the lives of these troubled people. Jaydeep also focuses on the political turmoil in today's time. The film will be produced under the banner of Subhankar Mitra’s Dhaga Production.
