Arindam Sil’s Byomkesh Hotyamancha was released on August 11 with Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar and Paoli in the lead. Soon after the release, the filmmaker got busy with his Feluda. After Satyajit Ray, Sandip Ray, Srijit Mukherji and Parambrata Chatterjee, it will be his turn to bring the legendary sleuth on the screen. Interestingly, Parambrata will be seen as Feluda in the film that is based on Satyajit Ray's novel Gangtoke Gondogol. Rwitobroto Mukherjee will be seen as Topshe in the Zee5 series. In fact, according to sources, Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury was supposed to be a part of the project. However, that did not work out.

After a hiatus, Rudranil Ghosh will be seen as an important character in the project. After crying foul for not getting enough work in Tollywood, the actor will be back shooting for the project. According to media reports, Rudranil did not yet sign the project. However, there has been an oral agreement, as of now. It should be noted that the chemistry between Arindam and Rudranil dates long back and beyond the actor-director relationship. Rudranil had worked in an important role in Byomkesh Pawrbo, the second of Arindam’s Byomkesh series. But many equations have changed in Tollywood between 2016 and 2022. Allegations raised by Rudranil about him being discriminated against due to his political affiliation may not be fully wrong, as can be confirmed by sources close to the industry.

Rudranil’s last release was Joydeep Mukherjee Akash Ongshoto Meghla. Besides the actor, the film also features Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee, Basabdatta Chatterjee and Ankita Chakraborty. The film delves into a socio-political drama that revolves around a factory lockdown and its trade union movements.
