Rukmini Vasanth signs yet another Telugu biggie, to romance Sharwanand in his next, here's what we know

Sharwanand was going through a rough phase in his career with a series of flops and needed a solid comeback. Determined to bounce back, he teamed up with director Ram Abbaraju of Samajavaragamana fame for a comedy entertainer titled Nari Nari Naduma Murari. 

The film turned out to be a smash hit at the box office, giving Sharwanand the much-needed success. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and OTTplay subscribers can watch it with a special top-up option.

Following this success, Sharwanand has locked his next project with noted filmmaker Srinu Vaitla. The upcoming film, said to be a comedy caper with a unique backdrop, is already making headlines for its casting choices. According to sources, Rukmini Vasanth, who gained nationwide recognition with Kantara 2, has been roped in as the female lead.

The makers were reportedly keen on casting a popular and talented actress, as the heroine’s role is said to be crucial to the storyline. The film is believed to have a period backdrop with a kingdom-style setting, and Rukmini will reportedly be seen playing a princess. 

She has allegedly been paid a hefty remuneration for the role, though an official confirmation is yet to be made in this regard. The project is being backed by the makers of Pushpa, and pre-production work is currently progressing at a brisk pace. An official announcement regarding the cast is expected soon.

After the success of Kantara, Rukmini Vasanth has been signing back-to-back projects. She will next be seen in Dragon alongside Jr NTR and also in Toxic, starring Yash, where she reportedly plays a bold role.

Sharwanand’s decision to collaborate with Srinu Vaitla has sparked interest, as the director once delivered some of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema. The film is said to blend period drama with hilarious comedy.
