Ajay Devgn’s directorial, Runway 34, has zeroed in on a release date. The excitement for the movie was boosted after the movie’s official trailer was released yesterday. Devgn has now said that he would not have gone through with the movie if he could not cast Amitabh Bachchan.

Reported by India Today, the actor turned director said during the trailer launch of the movie on Monday that he was fascinated by the story and that the movie started to shape up swiftly and went on floors within a month.

“In this film, for Mr Bachchan’s role, if he wouldn’t have agreed, I don’t even know if I would be able to cast (any other actor). I don’t think I would be making the film,” he said about casting the veteran star.

The actor, who has previously helmed two films, also said that when he looks to direct a movie, he does not want the project to be easy. He added that it was difficult to create visuals for Runway 34 as it happens on the ground and air.

Apart from Devgn and Bachchan, the movie also stars Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh and Angira Dhar.

Backed by Devgn’s Ajay Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, the high octane thriller is based on a true story. The trailer, which was released yesterday, has already clocked in over 18 million views on YouTube.

Devgn was last seen as Rahim Lala in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt. The actor is also awaiting the release of S.S. Rajamouli’s mega project RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
