Runway 34: Ajay Devgn talks about directing Amitabh Bachchan; calls him a ‘legend’

There has been a lot of fanfare around Runway 34, directed by Ajay Devgn. The trailer of the film, which was released recently, has left fans thrilled to the bits. During the trailer launch event, the actor-director Devgn opened up about working with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.

Talking about the movie at the event today, Devgn said that he has had the script for two years now but was waiting for some suggested changes to be made to it. He added that he checked up on the script during the lockdown and decided to do it. 

The actor-director also added that the movie is based on real events, but also has a few dramatised parts.

Devgn also talked about his co-star, Amitabh Bachchan. According to Times of India, he said, “While this may sound cliché but I have never seen anyone as talented and professional, like him who is working at his age with the same amount of dedication and energy. I always get to learn and get inspired by him to work better.” 

He also called Bachchan, a ‘legend’ and said that he has known the veteran actor since he was a kid and has worked with him in 7-8 films previously. 

Apart from Devgn and Bachchan, the movie also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, Aakanksha Singh and YouTuber Carry Minati (Ajey Nagar). 

Backed by Devgn’s Ajay Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, the thriller, based on true events, is set to hit theatres on April 29.
