Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly filed a defamation suit of Rs 50 crore against her stepdaughter Esha Verma (daughter of Ashwin Verma). The 26-year-old had leveled fresh allegations against the actress after her 4-year-old Facebook resurfaced online. A few days ago, Esha put up a video message on her Instagram account. Esha Verma deletes video against Rupali Ganguly

Esha Verma deleted the video from her Instagram account a day after her stepmother Rupali Ganguly filed a Rs 50 crore defamation suit against her. The 26-year-old also made her Instagram account private. Before sharing a video message against Ashwin and Rupali, Esha made shocking claims in various media interviews.

The daughter of Ashwin (from his second marriage) alleged that the Anupamaa actress cornered her. She even claimed that Rupali threatened her mother Sapna (Ashwin's second wife). While the TV actress didn't address any allegations, she directly sent a defamation notice to Esha.

Rupali Ganguly's lawyer talks about defamation notice

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Rupali's lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, confirmed that a defamation suit was filed against Esha. "We have issued a defamation notice to her stepdaughter in response to her false and damaging statements as Rupali firmly stands against the use of defamatory tactics for Publicity and she has taken this legal step to protect her reputation from unfounded claims," she said.

Rupali's lawyer called Esha's allegations 'baseless' and stated that the claims were intended to harm Rupali's reputation. She mentioned Esha made such allegations to capitalize on Ganguly's 'public standing'. "Such actions have not only caused emotional distress but have also unfairly tarnished her personal and professional integrity," shared Sana.

Meanwhile, Esha is yet to react to Rupali's defamation notice.
