S Thaman blames choreographers for Game Changer album failure: None of the songs had a hook step; compares it to Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo

Game Changer, the 2025 Telugu film starring actors Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, was released for Sankranthi. Despite boasting a star ensemble and directed by ace filmmaker Shankar, the film could not win at the box office and became a failure. 

Recently, the composer of Game Changer, S Thaman, has come out reasoning for the failure of the film’s music album. He put the blame on the choreographers for not creating a hook step which can be easily recreated. Further, he also compared it to Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo songs, which turned out to be a success. Read on to know what Thaman’s exact words were on Game Changer.

S Thaman on Game Changer soundtrack failure:

Game Changer became a colossal disaster, both among the critics and the audience. Recently, in an interview, S Thaman, who scored the music for the film, came out telling how it is not only the music director who can make the songs work among the audience.

Speaking about how none of the songs in Game Changer had a hook step, or even if there was none, it was not able to be recreated easily, Thaman said, “I always trust that a song is not always on the music director. I can pull off a 25 million maximum. A melody song will take 100 million or 50 million. Post that, it has to work on the reels. The choreographer should do the right step on the hook lines. That was missed in Game Changer. None of the songs had a hook step.”

Thaman compares Game Changer to Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo

Further, he also compared to Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo songs in which all the songs had hook steps. “It all helped me score in millions. The dance master has to take the responsibility. The hero too has to understand. If you do the right step, the camera man will be able to capture it. I missed out on Game Changer.” Recently, Thaman who also took part in a dance reality show as a guest, said to one of the contestants who performed Jaragandhi, saying that her steps were far much better than the ones in the film.
