Radhika Apte-Divyenndu’s Saali Mohabbat is scheduled for an OTT release soon. The film, which marks Tisca Chopra’s directorial debut, has already won praises at film festivals. It is now scheduled for direct-to-OTT streaming on Zee5 (OTTplay Premium). While the murder-mystery features notable names at the forefront, it will also feature Sauraseni Maitra, who is a relatively newer face in the Hindi film industry. Who is Sauraseni Maitra?
Sauraseni Maitra has already appeared on OTT rather often. She was a part of films like Chittagong, Umrika, and Meghnad Badh Rahasya. Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkummar Rao, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma to name a few, Chittagong was an actioner released in 2012. Sauraseni played the role of Aparna in the film. Umrika, like the name suggests is a tale based around US (America). Sauraseni played the character of Radhika in the film starring Suraj Sharma and Prateik Babbar (now Prateik Smita Patil). Sauraseni also featured in Abir Chatterjee-led Bengali film, Meghnadbodh Rohoshyo.
On the web series front, she was seen in Aditi Rao Hydari-Naseeruddin Shah’s Taj: Divided by Blood. She played the role of Mehrunnisa, which co-incidentally Aditi had already explored with Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh-Shahid Kapoor starring film, Padmaavat. Aditi immortalized the role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial and later, was seen as Anarkali in Taj.
