Saamanyudu: Vishal, Dimple Hayathi starrer is a hit on ZEE5, performs better than Tamil version

OTT is a great leveller and provides a wonderful opportunity for filmmakers and content creators to directly connect with the audience sans the structural/commercial obligations for theatrical releases. Even for theatrical releases that have their digital premiere, OTT platforms provide a second chance to click with spectators. Vishaal's latest Telugu release, Saamanyudu has made most of the second chance after its OTT premiere on ZEE5. The action thriller was directed by Thu.Pa.Saravanan.

Saamanyudu, the Telugu version of Vishal's Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, has him paired alongside Dimple Hayathi. While the film had its theatrical release in February, the actioner made it to ZEE5 on March 4 across Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages and has generated impressive numbers for the platform. Though the film may have received a modest response at the theatres, it is performing increasingly well with digital audiences. Interestingly, the Telugu version, Saamanyudu, is faring even better than the original language, ZEE5's media statement confirms.

The film also stars Raveena Ravi, Yogi Babu, Ramana, RNR Manohar, Kavitha Bharathi, Tulasi, Akhilan SPR and others in key roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja had composed the music for it while Kavin Raj has handled the cinematography. The technical crew also includes art director SS Murthi and editor NB Srikanth. ZEE5's other popular releases in the last few weeks include Rowdy Boys, starring Ashish, Anupama Parameswaran, Nagarjuna's Sankranthi blockbuster Bangarraju, Republic, web shows Loser 2 and Oka Chinna Family Story.
