Saani Kaayidham trailer: Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan starrer is a tragic revenge drama

The trailer for Arun Matheswaran's upcoming Tamil vengeance action-drama Saani Kaayidham was released today by Amazon Prime Video. The film features Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan in important roles and is produced by Screen Scene Media.

Ponni, portrayed by Keerthy Suresh, a constable who resides with her five-year-old child Dhanna and her husband Maari, a rice mill coolie, takes the audience on a disheartening journey. She ends up losing everything on one awful night. To seek revenge for the injustice done to her, she takes the help of Sangaiah, portrayed by Selvaraghavan, with whom she shares a complex history.

Speaking about her character in her statement, Keerthy Suresh said that Saani Kaayidham is a major departure from any of her prior projects. She plays a raw and intense character. She was drawn to be a part of this tough film because of her character and filmmaker Arun's particular narrative technique and vision. She said she also got to work with Selvaraghavan, and so, it couldn't get any better for her and added that she is looking forward to the crowd's reaction.

Director-turned-actor, Selvaraghavan said that the film is important to him as he confronted the camera for the first time. He said representing such a powerful role is a wonderful chance for him and it was a pleasure to share screen time with Keerthy Suresh, who he says, has delivered a powerful performance. “Arun Matheswaran, the director, is a master of his profession who has brought out the best in both the script and the actors,” he said.

The film, directed by Arun Matheswaran, also features a talented crew that includes Yamini Yagnamurthy as cinematographer, Sam CS as music director, Ramu Thangaraj as art director, Nagooran Ramachandran as editor, Dhilip Subbarayan as stunt director, and Siddharth Ravipatti as creative producer.

The film will be out in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam on Prime Video on May 6, 2022.
